As we head towards the last week of what has been one of the most exciting Premier League seasons to date, little has been decided in terms of who will finish where. Manchester City could still catch Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs are battling for fifth, and it's two from four at the bottom.
One thing we can be certain about though, is that the standard of goals in the top flight has been extraordinary, and there have been some outstanding individual strikes and team efforts this campaign, so choosing a favourite is certainly a difficult task, particularly for the neutral.
The goals have come from all areas of the pitch, and from teams at both ends of the table, and here at Sport.co.uk, we've compiled 10 of the best strikes from the 2010-11 Premier League season, complete with video evidence so you can relive them in all their glory.
10 – Scott Parker v Liverpool (February 27, 2011)
West Ham may have been relegated at the weekend, but you can't help feeling that such a fate would have been sealed weeks ago had it not been for the efforts of captain fantastic Scott Parker. This goal typifies his industriousness; he is equally adept at contributing to attacks as he is defensively, and here he does exceptionally well to play the one-two and guide it past Reina with the outside of his right foot, with very little back lift. The Hammers need two wins to stay up, and with Parker returning to training this week, you wouldn't bet against them giving it a really good go.
9 – Andy Carroll v Manchester City (April 11, 2011)
The much talked about England international completed a £35m move to Anfield in January, and spent the early part of his Liverpool career sidelined with injury. He had to wait until April to bag his first goal for the club, but this belter was well worth waiting for. It's a fabulous strike on the half-volley, and he follows it up with a brilliant header to set Liverpool on their way to a convincing 3-0 victory over Manchester City. With King Kenny having signed a permanent three year deal with the club, the strike force of Carroll and Suarez will be a force to be reckoned with next season.
8 – James Morrison v Manchester United (January 1, 2011)
Still only 24, Morrison is already approaching 200 senior career appearances, and the Scottish international has been known to pull out a spectacular strike every now and again. This 20-yard effort against Manchester United is a display of excellent technique, as the former Middlesbrough man rifles in a superb dipping volley past the despairing dive of Edwin van der Sar, arguably the Premier League's best goalkeeper this season. West Brom are looking good under Roy Hodgson, and this man could prove a key part of the Baggies jigsaw as they look forward to another top flight campaign.
7 – Cheik Tiote v Arsenal (February 5, 2011)
After finding themselves three goals down inside 10 minutes, Newcastle were staring down the barrel of a heavy defeat at the hands of title challengers Arsenal. The Gunners added a fourth on 26 minutes to seemingly wrap up victory, but an unbelievable comeback saw the home side bag four goals in 20 minutes to steal an unlikely point. With three minutes of normal time left to play, a Joey Barton free-kick was cleared high into the air, and dropped around 25 yards out, where Cheik Tiote was waiting to catch it sweetly on the volley. Well worth a watch.
6 – Raul Meireles v Wolves (January 22, 2011)
Displaying a similar technique to Tiote's goal, Liverpool's Raul Meireles managed to pick out the top corner from slightly further out. The Portuguese international initially struggled to adapt to life in English football, but has enjoyed a fantastic 2011 so far, as his and his club's fortunes have improved dramatically under Kenny Dalglish. This screamer was his second goal for the club, and the 28-year-old has been constantly improving in the Premier League, commanding the Reds' midfield in the absence of skipper Steven Gerrard.
5 – Dimitar Berbatov v Liverpool (September 19, 2010)
The United striker has been in scintillating form this season, topping the Premier League scoring chart, and contributing greatly to the club's table topping campaign. This lovely little overhead kick came either side of two headers; not quite the perfect hat-trick, but a pretty good one nonetheless. The Bulgarian takes one touch to control the ball on his knee, and with his back to goal, executes a superb finish that leaves Reina rooted to the spot. You'll have to fast-forward to a minute in to see the goal in question, as we've included the video of the hat-trick in its entirety for your viewing pleasure.
4 – David Jones v Stoke (August 14, 2010)
It's not very often you find a Wolves player in contention for goal of the season, but this superb piece of skill from David Jones is more than worthy of its place on this list. The intricacy of the strike requires great precision, and you have to wonder how many attempts he had at the training ground before getting this right. Karl Henry will claim the assist, but the credit should all go Jones' way as he helped Wolves to secure a 2-1 win on the opening day of the season.
3 – Sandro v Chelsea (April 30, 2011)
The Brazilian midfielder featured in our Top Ten: Alternative Player of the Year candidates, and he has really warranted his place in Harry Redknapp's starting 11 recently, with some fantastic displays. Usually known for his ability as an anchor man, Sandro makes a rare contribution to the Spurs attack here, and what a contribution it is. Redknapp is seen to be telling his man to sit slightly further back, but just five seconds later, he latches on to an exquisite little ball by van der Vaart, takes an excellent first touch, and then rifles it past a helpless Petr Cech for his first ever Spurs goal.
2 – Gareth Bale v Stoke City (August 21, 2010)
This man has been in sensational form in both domestic and European competitions this season, contributing greatly to Spurs' excellent run in the Champions League. It took him a while to force his way into Harry's plans, but the Welshman has shown his incredible talent since making the left-wing role his own. In this early season game against Stoke City, he displays incredible technique to strike right across the ball, and find the top corner from a difficult angle. He's attracted a lot of attention with his performances this season, and Spurs will be hoping they can hang on to him, despite failing to finish in the top four.
1 – Wayne Rooney v Manchester City (February 12, 2011)
Simply because of his high profile, Rooney's overhead kick is one of the most memorable moments of this Premier League season, but it tops this list on merit alone. The technique is one of the trickiest to master, and as Rooney himself admitted, they usually go over the bar. He describes this as the best goal he's ever scored, and says it was pure instinct, which makes it even more astonishing. Some claim it came off his shin, but surely this would make it an even better goal, and if Rooney's shin is scoring goals like this, imagine what his feet can do.
